The Copper Nickel Long Stub End Collar — manufactured to ASME B16.9 long pattern and, for high-pressure applications, MSS SP-75 proportions — provides an extended face-to-toe length for applications demanding maximum weld joint integrity, greater tolerance to pipe misalignment during field erection, and enhanced fatigue resistance under cyclic pressure or vibration loading. Manufactured in CuNi 90/10 (UNS C70600) and CuNi 70/30 (UNS C71500), this configuration is the standard choice for high-pressure, high-reliability marine, naval and offshore piping systems.
Long pattern stub ends are extensively specified in shipbuilding and offshore oil & gas construction where full compliance with NAVSEA T9074, UK DEF STAN and NORSOK requirements is mandatory, as well as in desalination plants and power generation facilities where piping systems experience continuous thermal cycling and require robust, long-service-life flanged connections. Long Pattern refers to the ASME B16.9 dimensional standard (and MSS SP-75 for high-pressure classes), which specifies an extended overall face-to-toe length compared to the MSS SP-43 short pattern — providing a longer, more gradual transition at the weld joint for improved fatigue and misalignment tolerance.
